Mona Alhout: Mons is a 38 age-old strong woman from Aleppo Syria. She has been living in Turkey for seven years. She has five children; two teenagers (victims of child labor), one boy with special needs, and 2 other small boys. She has been facing difficulties to deal with her boy with special needs. Since she found a rehabilitation center, now he started to live there and getting support. She visits him every week and feeling more comfortable knowing that he gets better attention now. Her abusive husband left them a long time ago and since then he is sometimes going to his children’s working place and take their money. Through an outreach program, an INGO contacted her. She started to attend their parenting sessions and consultation services. She feels empowered and learned how to depend on herself. Mona filed a divorce against her abusive husband and found a job as a house cleaner (8 hours a day for 800 TL monthly). Mona is the name of a strong woman. Her struggle continues but she feels that she grows strong every day and hopes to provide a better future for her children.
